Dope is for Dopes coming to VHS

On Thursday, March 8th from 9 a.m. until 10:30 the 8th and 9th grade students will view a live presentation of the Dope is for Dopes campaign put on by the Grafton Correctional Institution. A little about the program: Dope Is For Dopes is performed by inmates at the Grafton Correctional Institution and is a powerful anti-drug program much like the series ‘inside the wire.’ Dope Is for Dopes goes beyond the ‘just say no’ rhetoric by blending dramatic sequences and out-of-character, real-life interviews to deliver its simple and straightforward message: don’t start using or dealing drugs because the only way out is death or prison. Original songs and dance choreography play an important role in this production. While entertaining to the students it delivers a powerful message that will help promote VHS’s charge to create the best learning environment possible for our students. Thank you to the Vermilion Police Department for assisting VHS with this production.
